This session equips school and district administrators with a brief overview of how the brain learns to read, the principles of Structured Literacy, and the implications of the Science of Reading (SOR) for classroom instruction. Participants will explore the importance of using screeners, diagnostic assessments, and progress monitoring tools within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Drawing on leadership insights from It’s Possible by Pati Montgomery, the session emphasizes the critical role administrators play in transforming literacy outcomes through system-wide change, instructional alignment, and data-driven decision-making.
